ACCENT: All Accents boast improved fuel economy; EPA estimates are up 1 MPG across the board, to 28 MPG city/34 MPG highway for manuals and 27/36 for automatics. Automatic Accents get a fuel economy indicator with red, yellow and green lights. The new Accent Blue replaces the GS Base as the entry-level Accent. It has a lower suspension and revised gearing for its manual transmission, which raises its EPA estimates to 28/36. Unlike the old GS Base, the Blue offers air conditioning as an option. Other changes to the Accent include iPod USB ports and blue backlit gauges. GS models now offer antilock brakes as an option, and steering wheel audio controls are optional on the GLS sedan.
